Thanks to a generous grant from the AHRC-TORCH Graduate Fund, the Queer Modernism(s) III organising committee is proud to be able to offer 6 Access and Inclusion Bursaries of up to £75 towards travel, accommodation, and expenses for delegates from under-represented backgrounds.
As an organising committee, we recognise that there are many structural, cultural, and financial barriers which exclude people of colour, LGBTQIA+ individuals, neurodiverse individuals, disabled people, immigrants, refugees, and people from otherwise socio-economically precarious backgrounds from engaging with the academy. These bursaries are intended to ensure that Queer Modernism(s) III is as inclusive as possible, allowing delegates to attend and participate in the conference regardless of race, age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnic and social background, nationality, income level, or disability.
If you consider yourself to belong to a group under-represented in academia, please submit a short statement (c.200-500 words) indicating the ways in which you would benefit from an Access and Inclusion Bursary to email@example.com under the subject line ‘Access and Inclusion’. The deadline for applications is 28 February 2019.
Applications are welcomed from independent scholars, curators, activists, artists, performers, and practitioners.
Successful applicants will be asked to produce a brief conference report or personal reflection (c. 500-1000 words, or in a non-written format) to be hosted on the Queer Modernism(s) and TORCH websites to showcase their involvement in the conference and give an additional platform to under-represented voices.
